Update on COVID-19 at NACC 4/21/2020

It has been clear for some time now that community transmission is widespread. After consulting with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), we are confident that there has not been transmission from staff to patients. In response to this incident, and in preponderance of caution and a desire to protect our staff, our patients, and the community, NACC leadership has taken aggressive steps and moved swiftly to contain the risk for further transmission.

Health officials confirm first case of novel coronavirus in Minnesota

“The most important thing Minnesotans can do right now to help protect themselves, their families and their communities is to take those tried and true, everyday steps to prevent respiratory illnesses,” Ehresmann said.
Those include:

  • Covering your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or into your sleeve, and then throwing the tissue in the trash.

  • Washing your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom or before eating. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.

  • Avoid touching your face – especially your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Stay home if you have cold or flu-like symptoms, and avoid close contact with people who are sick.
