COVID-19 Vaccine Announcement
To our patients,
Native American Community Clinic (NACC) has received its first shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine and at this time have begun the vaccination process for our frontline clinic staff and high-risk elders. Our goal is to make doses of the COVID-19 vaccine available for all clinic patients beginning in the first few months of 2021. Updates will be shared on Facebook and our website as they become available. While the roll out of the COVID-19 vaccine is an exciting turning point during this ongoing pandemic, we understand that you may have questions about these new vaccines. We are here to answer your questions.
Who will get the vaccine first?
NACC has initially received a limited supply of the COVID-19 vaccine. Until we receive enough doses for all, our first vaccines will go to healthcare workers, elders, and patients age 55-65 with high-risk medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and obesity that may lead to severe COVID-19 infection.
Beginning 1/4/2021, clinic patients age 65 and older will be able to schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment. Clinic staff will call eligible patients to offer a vaccination time slot. If you feel you meet the criteria for vaccination, please call 612-872-8086, option #7 and our COVID-19 vaccination team will assist you.
Is the vaccine safe?
The Moderna vaccine series consists of 2 doses given 1-month apart. The Moderna vaccine has shown to be safe and more than 94% effective, according to the results of two large clinical trials. The Moderna vaccine has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) emergency use authorization, allowing it to be used for COVID-19 prevention efforts in the United States.

We understand that you likely have more questions than there are answers for right now. We’ll share more details on the COVID-19 vaccines, including how and when you can get one, as soon as that information is available. In the meantime, please continue to do your part by wearing a mask in public, washing your hands frequently, social distancing, and avoiding large groups.
And as always, NACC continues to offer telehealth (video platform or phone call) and in-clinic appointments to ensure your healthcare needs are met during this challenging time. Additionally, same day mental health support is available. Please call 612-872-8086 if you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment.
