Simone Megas-Harmason, MA, CADC III

I’m honored and committed to serving the community in which I was born and raised. My education and experience include obtaining certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor III from UMICAD. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, along with a law enforcement certificate, and a Master of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology. I’m passionate about improving the health of the community through harm reduction and prevention strategies, as well as finding innovative ways to integrate health improvement options within systems. I’ve invested over a decade in working to integrate chemical health care services into the primary care setting within urban native communities in Minneapolis, MN. My work experience in a variety of systems, such as corrections, hospitals, social service orgs, mental health, and chemical health programs has led to a better understanding of the systemic revolving door that individuals using substances and carrying generational and complex trauma tend to cycle through.
