Email Templates to Support NACC

NACC is requesting $12 million from the Minnesota Legislature to build a new clinic with affordable and supportive housing. This will enable us to expand our services and improve the quality of life of Native Americans in Minnesota.

It’s important that your legislators hear from you about the need to pass this bill! As a supporter of NACC, please consider contacting your representatives and asking them for their support. You can find contact details for your representatives and letter templates below.

Dear [Add your District Representative’s Name]

I am writing to express my support for Native American Community Clinic’s (NACC’s) request for $12 million in State funding. The proposed funding will be used to construct a new clinic with affordable housing that is urgently needed to improve the health, wellness, and quality of life of Native American families in Minnesota. NACC’s project is shovel-ready. They have assembled development and design teams and with legislative support will begin construction in early spring of 2023.

Native Americans are the most underserved community in Minnesota. The data is undeniable and it is bleak. Native Americans are more likely than any other racial group to experience homelessness, die during childbirth, die from or be hospitalized with COVID-19, die from overdose, or have diabetes or asthma. Native Americans have the lowest life expectancy of any racial group in Minnesota.

The time to act is now. We all recognize that these health and housing disparities are unacceptable, and resources are needed to address them. NACC’s new facility will enable them to accommodate an additional 5,000 patient visits and significantly expand their services to include:

  • Up to 100 Units of affordable housing units for families

  • Wrap-around services for the unsheltered and homeless community

  • Expanded mother and child health

  • Broadened school-based programs

  • Augmented children’s mental health services

  • Increased HIV and MAT programs

  • Expanded Chemical Health Programs

  • Increased implementation of telehealth

  • Pharmacy services

  • Integrating their pediatric care clinic with medical, dental, and mental health services

NACC’s Housing and Health Campus will create an additional 20+ full-time livable wage jobs in the community.

While NACC has worked tirelessly before and throughout the pandemic to serve the community, they urgently need to update their clinic and expand their services. I therefore ask that you enable NACC to meet the critical need in our community by supporting their request.

Yours sincerely,
