Harm reduction
People who use drugs face stigma and discrimination. This creates shame and stops people from reaching out for help when they need it. NACC supports community members who use drugs and desires to support their health and safety while using by offering respectful, nonjudgmental healthcare.
Harm reduction services are available to community members through a number of ways:
Outreach Events
Mondays, 11:30 am – 2 pm
Includes HIV testing and distribution of safer use supplies
Screening
Screening and follow-up for infectious disease that can be spread through needle use and sexual activity, including HIV, hepatitis C, and STIs (sexually transmitted infections)
Other Services
Supportive services through medical care, behavioral healthcare, and outreach services
Safer Supplies
All community members can request safer supplies at NACC’s front desk:
Mondays, 11:30 am – 5 pm
Fridays, 8:30 am – 5 pm
This includes syringe exchange, pipes, and mouthpieces
MAT
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders, such as Suboxone and Sublocade
Narcan
Distribution of Narcan in the case of accidental overdose and education to the community on how to administer Narcan
