NACC Holiday Ookiye’s (Helpers): Help plan the staff party in February! Please send email Molly Montana to sign up.
Starting next week, we will begin a long list of Holiday activities, and I wanted to make sure that I gave everyone a heads-up before they begin. I have attached a copy of the monthly breakdown and next week’s activity flyers. Each week, I will send out flyers to ensure that everyone remembers what will be happening the following week. With that being said, this the agenda for next week:
Decorate your Space: All decorating and pictures must be done and sent to me by Monday, December 9th at 11 am.
Pease reach out to Anna McKay to claim. We look forward to seeing more responses next week. If you have already sent one over, it will still be in the running for next week. Please keep sending over responses!
“I know for a fact that Recovery is Possible, a relative recently recovered from street drugs with the help of NACC. I am very thankful to the Program. To recover I think you have to really want it, and they did. They are now a few years in recovery and doing great.
So Proud and Thankful”
“I was a shut- in alcoholic for almost ten years. My sister was on the streets on drugs for over 10 years. Our mother struggled with substance abuse before she passed. With a lot of honest hard work, I am now seven years sober. My sister recently came back into my life sober! This last year has been so healing. It feels like my family is finally together again. RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE!!!!!”
“Recovery is possible; For me its personal, I was raised in a household where my father was an addict that did not want to get sober. I come from a long line of addicts and mental health issues. I myself have had both from a young age of 9. I have similar lived experience as our community and never knew recovery was a possibility till January of 2006. When I was offered the opportunity to become well and have been since. I was able to get my 2 sons back into my life, met my wife, went back to school to become an RN (was a CMA for 20+ yrs) and now am working at a clinic that I can give back to the community that I relate too. It is a gift to be in recovery when I did not even know I wanted it and needed it so bad.”
“I have had life experiences in which I was told that recovery was not possible and that I needed to accept the reality of the disease. I have had close relationships around me that believed this false truth and took their own lives in order to receive relief from their disease. Recovery is possible is an important truth for me to share in wide open spaces and less visible spaces regardless of the depth of addiction and barriers any of us experience.”

HIPAA TOPIC: Securing Patient Information
Use Encrypted Email and Messaging : When sending patient information electronically, always use encrypted email to send patient information. When using messaging or chat please use patient initials.
Verify Recipient Identity: Before sharing any patient information, always verify the identity of the recipient including confirming name and date of birth.
Minimize Information Shared: Share only the minimum necessary information required for the purpose of the communication. Avoid disclosing any additional personal details unless absolutely necessary.
Respect Boundaries with Personal Acquaintances: Employees must not access medical records or information of friends or family. Accessing such information without a legitimate work-related reason is a violation of HIPAA and breaches patient trust.
OCHIN
OCHIN: There is an OCHIN Coverage grid on the new white board outside of Felicia and Avery’s office! If you are curious who is in and out between Shannon, Kris, and Mya – please check there!
Laurie from OCHIN will be onsite Monday 11/11 through Thursday 11/14. She will be shadowing different areas to offer efficiencies and observe our workflows. This will not disrupt the flow of work for anyone, and it is not a formal training. Managers/leads of the departments should have received an agenda/schedule from Mya. If you didn’t receive a schedule, please let Mya know.
