  • Gratitude to Kris S. for being willing to jump in and help in any department. Offering to clean a room, assist scheduling s  patient, or print records, brings the spirit of teamwork to NACC.

  • Shoutout to my fellow OCHIN teammates for all their hard work on the build, decision making, and enthusiasm for the project!

  • Blizzo, Michael’s Ghost, Penny Oleson, and most appropriately, The Human Whisperer- You bring the best out of our Harm Reduction team, the relatives we serve, and everyone in between. All Staff Updates this Week

  • Let’s Do Lunch! Wednesday 4/3, 1 - 2 PM in Hinterland. First week of each month, get to know your coworkers better over lunch! 2 staff will present about themselves and what they do at NACC, learn about a cultural practice, enjoy lunch, and chat! Email Johanna with any questions.

  • Ashley O will be out on PTO Friday April 5th.

  • Community Baby Shower: If you are interested in volunteering, we ask that you clear it with your supervisor to attend on NACC time. Talk to Natchez after clearing with your supervisor.

  • CPR Training is scheduled for 4.9.2024. Please contact Toni to get on the schedule.

  • A note from HR: If you HR office door is closed please don’t barge in. It is closed for a reason. We have an open door policy except for when its not.

HIPAA TOPIC: Securing Patient Information

  • Use Encrypted Email and Messaging : When sending patient information electronically, always use encrypted email to send patient information. When using messaging or chat please use patient initials.

  • Verify Recipient Identity: Before sharing any patient information, always verify the identity of the recipient including confirming name and date of birth.

  • Minimize Information Shared: Share only the minimum necessary information required for the purpose of the communication. Avoid disclosing any additional personal details unless absolutely necessary.

  • Respect Boundaries with Personal Acquaintances: Employees must not access medical records or information of friends or family. Accessing such information without a legitimate work-related reason is a violation of HIPAA and breaches patient trust.

Email Tips

  • NEVER CLICK ON LINKS FROM an email unless you have checked and confirmed with the sender that the link is legit. Text me if you have a question.

  • Never send any information or patient data to anyone without confirming both the email name and the email address the message was sent from.

  • Email Encryption: Please do it when sending emails with PHI or PII

OCHIN

  • The OCHIN Team now has a public landing page for all updates and information around the OCHIN Epic Implementation Project. Click this link to access and join the team! Please contact Mya or Shannon with any questions.


Department updates

Outpatient Behavioral Health

  • BH has 2 half hour same day appointments each day with rotating providers throughout the week. Same day appointments operate on a first come first served basis and may be in person or virtual depending on the day. These must be scheduled by BH.

  • To schedule elder/spiritual care: call the BH front desk OR enter a request in referral tracker for BH to follow up with clients

  • Behavioral Health Home referrals (for patients who need long term behavioral health supports) Should be placed through orders, please contact Rose Momo rmomo@nacc-healthcare.org or 612-476-2017.

Groups: call BH front desk to get clients registered: 612-843-5981


Operations + IT

  • Use Vocera “Call IT” to get in contact with Sara or Kris

  • Kris provides IT support for late afternoons.


Patient advocates + Transportation

Due to personal matters Ashley O'Meara will be leaving at 1:15pm on Wednesdays. This will go on until May 31st. Regular Wednesday hours (8am-3pm) will resume the following week.

  • Dental open normal hours.

  • Eastside clinic in St. Paul takes walk-ins 8:30-3 M-F for emergencies


Outreach

  • Weekly syringe clean-up around the neighborhood every Wednesday at 2 PM. All staff are invited to join. James will be the main contacts for this weekly event.

  • HIV Testing Event in Hinterland every Monday from 11 am -2 pm

  • Outreach at Avivo Village every other Thursday afternoon from 2pm-4pm

  • Street outreach every Thursday at encampments

  • Every 2nd Tuesday we join Southside HRS popup on Cedar

  • NACC staff are welcome to grab syringe or narcan kits from the DT harm reduction space. When taking supplies, please write down number of kits, type of kit, and date they are taking on White Board in back of DT.
