Community Engagment Coordinator, Ninde Doula

I am from the White Earth Nation. I have four children and have been a mother for over half of my life. Bringing a new life into the world and welcoming this little Spirit is a treasured and vital time for the family yet can be overwhelming. As a Doula, I coach moms and families on healthy eating, the significance of essential oils, specialized skin creams and most importantly recognizing the meaningfulness of traditional plant medicines. I am a community member and artist. Creating something beautiful, whether it’s a painting for the nursery or a moss bag for the baby, sets an intention to embrace culture and beauty in our lives. Our immediate environment can reflect who we are and what is important to us. Meaningful art and Native traditions are just as impactful as eating healthy; they both feed the soul. After all, this little creation you are bringing into the world is a beautiful masterpiece and you’re most important experience.
